About the Role
Hire Resolves Client is seeking an experienced Professional Structural Engineer in the Civil Engineering environment to join their team. As a key member of the structural design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural designs that meet safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- In this role, you will be responsible for the structural design of reinforced concrete and structural steel structures and buildings according to SANS design codes.
- Structural Design, Utilize advanced knowledge and skills with Prokon Design Software, PADDS or Probar 2, and AutoCAD to design and analyse various structural elements and systems.
- Employ intermediate knowledge of Revit, ROBOT or Prokon Sumo, and BIM digital delivery for structural modeling and coordination.
- Stay updated with industry standards and regulations to ensure designs meet safety and quality requirements.
- Project Management, Collaborate with project managers and teams to deliver projects within specified timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptualization to completion.
- Contract Management, Apply intermediate understanding of contract management and contracts such as JBCC, GCC, etc.
- Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and align with project objectives.
- Quality Assurance, Conduct thorough quality checks and reviews of structural designs and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Implement quality assurance processes to minimize errors and ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
- Communication and Collaboration, Effectively communicate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to address design requirements, resolve issues, and ensure project objectives are met.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems.
Requirements
- B.Eng or BSc Eng from a recognised university
- Professional registration with ECSA
- Code B driver’s license
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Advanced knowledge and skill with Prokon Design Software, PADDS or Probar 2 and AutoCAD
- Intermediate knowledge of Revit, ROBOT or Prokon Sumo, and BIM digital delivery
