Job Description
The role of Stock Controller is a newly created one with the main objective being to
operate as a key link between Purchasing, Operations and Warehouse functions. This
will involve monitoring stock levels, movements, locations and a strategic use of space
and processes. The aim of the role is to continually reduce the number of stock losses,
write offs and customer/supplier stock queries year on year.
The individual will need to be able to work independently and be self-motivated. They
should also process strong problem-solving skills and have a keen eye for detail.
Main Responsibilities
- Compare items received against items ordered and ensure incoming stock is receipted and managed appropriately.
- Carrying out periodic reviews of outgoing orders to ensure accuracy of shipments and respective stock records.
- Ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are investigated, addressed, and resolved.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all stock
- Help develop the companys stock management strategy with the aim of
reducing losses and obsolete stock, rationalising inventory, and maximizing
available space. - Work with the warehouse management to ensure proper arrangement of stock to
allow for optimum efficiency / organisation. - Perform process and system testing to locate and solve problems in data
integrity. - Be responsible for managing and running planned stock takes.
- Perform cyclic stock checks.
- Minimise and removal of obsolete stock.
