About the Role
Hire Resolve’s Client is seeking an experienced General Manager (Opencast) to lead their mining company based in North-West, providing strategic and operational leadership to drive sustainable performance, financial control, risk management, and organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the overall business strategy, aligning operations, resources, and departmental plans to achieve organisational objectives.
- Oversee operational performance, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of production and service targets.
- Drive governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance across all areas of responsibility.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, capital allocation, and long-term sustainability.
- Lead and develop senior management teams, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and values-driven culture.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support business continuity and strategic growth.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
- Opencast Blasting Certificate
- Professional Registration with Mine Manager Affiliations
- 15 years’ experience within an opencast mining environment with 6 years’ experience in a Senior Management role
- Experience on MS Dynamics F&O, Reporting tools (MS Power BI)
- Valid Driver’s License
