Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Chef for a luxury safari lodge based in the North West province. This is an exceptional opportunity for a culinary leader to oversee the lodges kitchen operations, driving creativity, excellence, and consistency across all dining outlets.
The successful candidate will lead the culinary team, ensuring that every dish delivered reflects the lodges high standards and provides guests with memorable, world-class dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and inspire the lodges culinary team
Plan, develop, and execute innovative menus across all dining outlets
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, and budgeting
Ensure adherence to hygiene, health, and food safety standards
Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff to maximise performance and growth
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
Collaborate with management to enhance guest experiences through cuisine
Manage logistical challenges associated with remote lodge operations
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef within a luxury lodge or similar high-end hospitality environment
Strong leadership and team management skills
Exceptional creativity and passion for culinary excellence
Excellent organisational, logistical, and time management abilities
In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and contemporary culinary techniques
Ability to thrive in a remote lodge environment and adapt to local resources
Positive, collaborative, and professional approach at all times
What is Offered:
Salary of R25,000 with live-in accommodation
7% company contribution to provident fund (effective from the fourth month)
Medical aid subsidy of 50%, capped at R1,800 per month (effective from the fourth month)
Accommodation, utilities, and high-speed Wi-Fi included
Three meals per day on a balanced, rotating staff menu
Access to staff recreation facilities, including a pool, games room, and fully equipped gym
Covered parking for personal vehicles
Shuttle transport between staff village and lodge, as well as weekly transfers from Madikwe Game Reserve gates
21/7 work cycle with 21 days annual leave per year
Uniform provided and laundered by the lodge
Gratuities may apply depending on the role
