Camps Bay: Director of Housekeeping

We are seeking a highly experienced Executive Housekeeper , ready to step into the Director of Housekeeping role, to lead the hotels Rooms Division housekeeping operations. The successful candidate will take full ownership of guest rooms, public areas, laundry operations, and back-of-house housekeeping, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational efficiency across the hotel. Critical Criteria (Requirements) Minimum 5 years senior leadership experience in luxury hotels (100 rooms) Proven track record in budgeting, strategic planning, and operations management Advanced knowledge of Opera PMS and housekeeping systems (Omni, Trac Tech, etc.) Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel proficiency essential) Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management preferred Exceptional people leadership and succession planning experience South African citizen with a valid ID Key Competencies 🔹 Strategic Leadership & Planning Ability to develop and execute housekeeping strategies aligned with luxury standards 🔹 Operational Excellence Maintain consistent quality across guest rooms, public areas, and laundry operations 🔹 Financial & Resource Management Full P&L accountability, budget control, and CPOR monitoring 🔹 Guest-Centric Approach Commitment to delivering flawless guest experiences 🔹 People Leadership Inspire, coach, and mentor a large team (85 staff), fostering high performance and accountability Duties & Responsibilities Lead the housekeeping department, setting policies, procedures, and operational standards aligned with luxury brand expectations Oversee cleanliness, presentation, and operational efficiency of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces Manage laundry operations, linen, and housekeeping equipment inventory with preventative maintenance planning Prepare, monitor, and manage departmental budgets, including CPOR metrics Recruit, train, and develop housekeeping staff, building a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence Deliver accurate reports, uphold safety and hygiene standards, and ensure compliance with audits and SOPs Collaborate with Rooms Division and hotel management teams to support overall guest experience objectives Champion operational initiatives to improve efficiency, sustainability, and service quality Promote the hotels values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity Package on Offer Basic salary (TBA) 50/50 contribution to Pension Company contribution to medical aid Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with proven large-scale luxury hotel housekeeping leadership experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV highlights housekeeping leadership achievements All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the companys Employment Equity Plan Lead with vision, inspire your team, and elevate housekeeping standards at Cape Towns most iconic luxury hotel.
