We are seeking a proactive and reliable Junior / Mid Accountant to manage our financial processes, including accounts, payments, payroll, and statutory submissions. The position is based in Kenilworth and our ideal candidate is someone who has solid accounting principles and reliable.

Key

• Accounts Management:
  • Maintain and update accurate financial records.
  • Process all payments and receipts in accordance with company policies.
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
• Payroll Administration:
  • Process monthly payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Ensure that all employee-related benefits and deductions are accurately processed.
• VAT & PAYE Submissions to SARS:
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT and PAYE returns to SARS.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance.
• Financial Reporting & Record-Keeping:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate ledgers and supporting documentation for audits.
• General Accounting Support:
  • Assist with general accounting tasks such as invoicing, supplier payments, and expense tracking.
  • Provide support in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis when required.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Education & Experience:
  • A relevant accounting qualification e.g. Diploma in Accounting or BCom Accounting.
  • Proven experience in junior accounting roles (articles is a plus), ideally with exposure to VAT and PAYE processes.
  • Familiarity with South African tax regulations, especially VAT and PAYE submissions to SARS.
• Skills:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
