Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Remuneration & Benefits Administer payroll for permanent and non-permanent employees, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Update salary and master data changes in the payroll system. Process timesheets, leave, commissions, gratuities, deductions, and statutory submissions. Track non-permanent staff employment duration as per legal requirements. Balance monthly payroll and distribute reports and employee payslips. Manage employee benefits, including medical aid, retirement funds, and disability and death claims. Support salary benchmarking, performance-based bonuses, and annual salary reviews. Maintain compliance with legal and company remuneration policies. Administration Support HR operations related to training, development, and employee wellbeing. Assist in recruitment administration for permanent and seasonal roles. Manage and update HR records, employee contracts, and status changes. Recruitment Oversee recruitment for operational roles. Advertise vacancies internally and externally, screen applicants, and shortlist candidates. Organise interview panels and assist in interviews. Conduct background checks, reference checks, and qualification verifications. Provide feedback to unsuccessful candidates. Employee Relations & Reporting Assist in handling employee grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes. Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal HR policies. Compile reports, including Affirmative Action (AA) reporting and employment equity plans. Maintain consolidated leave balances and provide monthly HR reports.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field. 3-7 years’ recent experience in talent, culture, payroll administration, employee benefits, and HR operations. Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Payspace) and HRIS software. Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and statutory requirements. Experience with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
