Cape Town City Centre: Factory Mechanic

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Factory Mechanic to maintain and repair our mobile plant equipment. This role requires hands-on expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical issues efficiently. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric certificate) Valid Drivers License Relevant mechanical qualification 35 years experience as a Factory Mechanic Experience with 3-wheel bell forklifts, front-end loaders, excavators, forklifts, and tractors Previous experience in a clay brick factory (advantageous) Fluent in Afrikaans & English (isiXhosa advantageous) Knowledge of OHSA Act Key Responsibilities: Ensure availability, upkeep, and reliability of trackless mobile plant equipment Maintain functionality of equipment, engines, and mechanical systems Manage maintenance and repair schedules effectively Perform emergency repairs as needed Troubleshoot mechanical faults efficiently Execute SHEQ responsibilities Manage mechanical stock Skills and Attributes: Strong communication skills Meticulous attention to detail Ability to work under pressure Excellent problem-solving skills Willingness to work overtime and respond to call-outs when required Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:00 17:00 Friday: 07:00 15:00 Some production processes run 24/7 and may require call-outs
