Cape Town City Centre: Group Financial Controller (UK & SA)

Location: Cape Town, Maitland Our international independently owned client is looking for a Group Financial Controller to lead their head office finance operations across the UK and South Africa. Key Responsibilities Group Consolidation & Reporting Manage monthly group consolidation for management accounts. Prepare annual statutory group consolidation and Annual Financial Statements (AFS). Lead the group audit process in collaboration with external auditors and regional finance teams. Standardize group reporting processes and ensure full IFRS compliance. Provide technical support and training to regional finance teams. Head Office Financial Management Oversee accounting for UK and SA head office entities. Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure financial integrity. Authorize payments across UK and SA banking platforms. Monitor monthly expenditure vs. budget and engage with management on variances. Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts. Oversee cash management and monthly cashflow forecasting. Maintain banking records and statutory documentation. Prepare tax calculations and returns with consultants (UK & SA). Review monthly VAT returns for both jurisdictions. Strategic Projects & Analytics Lead special investigations, analytics, and ad hoc financial projects to support executive decision-making. The ideal candidate must be a CA with approximately two years post articles experience. This is an opportunity not to be missed.
