An exciting opportunity has become available within the Construction industry, for a Structural Engineer/ Technologist. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and strength of structures. This dynamic position will involve a blend of office-based responsibilities, where you will be engaged in designing and planning project details, and on-site involvement, providing invaluable technical guidance to construction workers.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSc/BEng) or BTech in Structural Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is required.
• Software: Prokon, MS Office, Revit, and AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Prokon software for structural analysis and design, coupled with advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite.
• Extensive experience of over 5 years in the structural engineering design field, with a strong preference for expertise in commercial projects.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical fitness
• Demonstrated ability to effectively apply engineering principles and practices to address complex structural challenges.
• Proven track record of successful project delivery, showcasing sound technical judgment and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, essential for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry advancements and best practices.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Professional registration or in the process of registration would be an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize and design structures, specializing in commercial buildings, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client requirements.
• Utilize design software to create structural models, optimizing efficiency, and accuracy in design processes.
• Assess and analyze loads and pressures induced by environmental factors or human activities, integrating resilience and sustainability into structural designs.
• Structural specifications, balancing performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability considerations.
• Oversee on-site construction activities, providing guidance and supervision to construction teams, ensuring seamless execution of designs.
• Monitor project progress closely, tracking milestones and deadlines, and providing comprehensive reports to stakeholders.
• Liaison with professional team, facilitating seamless coordination throughout project lifecycles.
• Facility Condition Assessments and Structural Assessments
