About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Shift Coordinator to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our production operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of our facility, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day production operations
- Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
- Drive continuous improvement across the department
- Supervise production team to achieve daily targets, quality standards, and output requirements
- Coordinate and monitor production activities for optimal utilisation of equipment, raw materials, packaging, and labour
- Implement and support Lean methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency
- Conduct process monitoring and equipment checks to ensure smooth production flow
- Review and interpret production performance data, including OEE, waste levels, throughput, and quality deviations
- Maintain accurate production documentation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Schedule work activities and allocate resources to meet production plans and customer requirements
- Oversee key HR functions within the production team
Requirements
- Grade 12 National Diploma in Food Technology or Production Certificate
- Diploma / National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging Operation Team Leader / Supervisory training (essential)
- 35 years experience in a supervisory role
- Knowledge of engineering / mechanical, material requirement planning, plant capacity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Product and process specific knowledge
- Familiarity with microbiology, food safety legislation, and cleaning processes
- Knowledge of quality systems, ISO standards, and preventative maintenance
