About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Trails Guide to join our team, specifically looking for someone who wants to advance their FGASA qualification and share their passion for conservation and sustainable tourism practices with guests of all ages and backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct guided trails and tours, ensuring the safety and well-being of guests at all times
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of local environment, including animal behavior, tracking techniques, and conservation challenges
- Engage with guests, providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adhere to company protocols and best practices for wildlife encounters
- Maintain rifle competency and valid ARH and Rifle Competencies
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of guest interactions and activities
Requirements
- FGASA qualification preferred
- Valid ARH and Rifle Competencies
- DEAT / NDT registered
- A deep understanding of the local environment, including animal behavior, tracking techniques, and conservation challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid First Aid certification
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications: FGASA qualification (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
- Leave cycle: 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off
- Private accommodation with en-suite bathroom
- Communal kitchen
- 50% Medical Aid contributions
- 6.5% Provident fund contributions
