Job Description

Purpose of the Position: To manage and lead a team of production employees to ensure optimal utilisation of production facility equipment, raw materials, packaging materials and labour in order to produce high quality products. This role supports operational excellence, ensures compliance with food safety standards and contributes to continuous improvement within the production environment Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 National Diploma in Food Technology or Production Certificate Diploma / National Certificate in Food and Beverage Packaging Operation OR Technical Qualification Team Leader / Management / Supervisory training (essential) 35 years experience in a supervisory role Knowledge Requirements Knowledge of engineering/mechanical, material requirement planning, plant capacity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), product and process specific knowledge. Knowledge and interpretation of advance process control Principles of microbiology and biochemistry Understanding of processing equipment, Clean in Place (CIP) procedures, HACCP and waste management GMP quality control and quality assurance, raw material functions Intermediate knowledge instrumentation System fault finding Health and safety practices Food legislation and food safety standards Skills and Competencies Leading and managing teams to achieve high performance Implementing World Class Manufacturing and Lean processes Equipment and process control Monitoring materials, processes, and production environment Technical fault finding Clear and effective communication with supervisors and team members Assessing resource requirements Scheduling work activities and prioritising tasks Testing and evaluation skills Strong leadership ability Ability to train and develop team members
