About the Role
The Maintenance Technician role is a critical component of our operations, responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance and upkeep of our electro-mechanical equipment in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical/electrical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience working with SCADA and PLC control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure application of and adherence to the Maintenance Information system (Service Manager)
- Maintain accurate Asset Register for all assets
- Attend to break-downs and prioritize jobs promptly
- Plan & perform routine Preventative and Corrective maintenance and repairs
- Apply sound human resource principles, administration, and control procedures
- Ensure safety and housekeeping meets Occupational Health and Safety Act standards
- Monitor and report on electro-mechanical plant condition
- Assist with pricing, tendering, and implementation of new electrical, mechanical, and civil installations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Qualified Millwright (Red Seal) or equivalent training
- Wireman’s license an advantage or studying towards obtaining it
- 5 years relevant experience in maintenance of large electrical and mechanical installations
- Strong mechanical/electrical background with ability to trouble shoot accurately and quickly
- 5 years relevant experience in SCADA and PLC control systems, as well as field control instrumentation
- Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office software packages
- Minimum Code 08 valid drivers license
