About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Refrigerator Technician to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing refrigerated containers, as well as providing on-site servicing for our Reefer Lease fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for maintenance and repairs of refrigerated containers
Attend to on-site servicing of Reefer Lease fleet
Attend to reefer-related callouts and breakdowns on-site
Liaising with customers on-site and ensuring job cards are filled out and signed
Responsible for estimating for repairs to reefers when procured and off-hired
Carry out necessary repairs to reefers and make operational
Attend to commissioning of units on-site
Responsible for management of spares in stock and accounting for once removed
Notifying line manager for any stock required
Packaging of reefer spares New/second-hand for local and international orders
Housekeeping of Reefer Workshop area
Assist CWD Workshop as needed (when available must be cleared with Line Manager first)
Inspecting of reefer at depots prior to procurement with/for Line Manager
Overtime/after-hours call outs will be required (vehicle will be provided)
Accountable for all Workshop Tools
Refurbishment of Reefer component items, including, but not limited to, semi-hermetic compressors, fan motors, coils, etc.

Matric Trade Tested
Relevant trade experience
