The Montague Gardens Branch requires a committed, hardworking and trustworthy Scale Buyer to join their team. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Ensure that you thoroughly inspect scrap metal to be purchased and display same openly for photographing Ensure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying by accurately recording all information required under the Act Ensure that captured information and photographs is correct Sorting and grading of ferrous and non-ferrous material Accurately weigh customers metals for purchase Identifying stolen and inferior material and report same to management immediately Accurately updating customer information Ensure metal purchased is secured immediately after purchased and not re-purchased Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent Computer proficiency: packages required: MS Word, Excel Good numeracy skills Able to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers & colleagues Ability to work independently as well as in a team Good communication skills Ability to work quickly and under pressure An excellent knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals Reside in surrounding areas will be advantageous Qualifying Attributes: Self-motivated, accurate, goal orientated and attention to detail Eager to learn and develop Ability to multi-task and manage demanding workload in a pressurised environment Ability to work independently and within a team Strong sense of integrity and honesty We regret that it is not possible to contact all unsuccessful applicants.
