Cape Town City Centre: Systems Engineer (UAV’s)

Key Responsibilities: Lead system-level design, architecture definition, and requirements development for UAV platforms Integrate avionics, propulsion, communications, sensors, and payload subsystems Conduct system modelling, performance analysis, and risk assessments Oversee hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), ground testing, and flight test campaigns Support certification, documentation, and compliance activities Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues throughout the product lifecycle Collaborate closely with software, mechanical, electrical, and flight operations teams Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Proven experience working with UAV systems or other aerospace platforms Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies (e.g., MBSE and V-Model) Experience with the integration of avionics, sensors, RF systems, autopilots, and communication links Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS, or SysML Knowledge of airworthiness standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD, or relevant civil UAV regulations)
