About the Role
The Washbay Manager will oversee the daily operations of two commercial vehicle washbay sites, focusing on supervising teams, maintaining high cleaning standards, and ensuring staff attendance and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support Team Leaders and Washbay staff across two washbay sites
- Ensure trucks and vehicles are cleaned according to required standards (including food-grade and general truck washes)
- Manage staff attendance, shift coverage, and biometric timekeeping
- Oversee daily operations and ensure the washbays run efficiently
- Conduct basic stock checks and monitor usage of cleaning chemicals, soap, and PPE
- Ensure equipment is functioning and report any maintenance issues
- Communicate regularly with the Operations team and submit basic reports via WhatsApp, email, or Excel
- Maintain good working relationships with clients at the washbay sites
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and the sites remain clean and organised
Requirements
- Matric
- Valid drivers licence
- At least 23 years experience supervising or managing a team
- Comfortable managing staff and dealing with operational issues
- Basic computer literacy
- Able to travel between sites as required
- Willing to occasionally work evening or night shifts when required
