About the Role

As a Data Engineer, youll be embedded within the clients advanced data factory, collaborating closely with their data science team to build and optimise robust data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. This is a hybrid role based in Century City, Cape Town, offering you the flexibility to combine remote work with valuable on-site collaboration. This environment encourages creativity and fresh thinking – youll have the freedom to introduce new ideas, experiment with tools, and influence how data is engineered across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures
• Collaborate with data scientists to deliver integrated data solutions
• Leverage Hadoop to manage and process large datasets efficiently
• Utilise SQL and PowerBI for reporting, dashboards, and analytics delivery
• Work with a variety of modern data engineering tools and platforms
• Contribute to process improvements and advocate for engineering best practices

What Youll Bring

• Proven experience in a data engineering role
• Strong hands-on expertise with Hadoop (this is essential)
• Proficiency in SQL and PowerBI
• Exposure to a range of data engineering tools and platforms
