A leading credit risk solutions firm is looking for a Debt Recovery Specialist to join their Port Elizabeth branch. We are a dynamic, driven team that thrives in a fast-moving, competitive environment. We are looking for someone who can look beyond a standard job description to proactively recover outstanding debt while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities

Proactive Debt Recovery: Use a variety of creative approaches to recover outstanding debt and improve customer cash flow.

Operational Excellence: Provide support to Credit Risk Advisors and offer guidance to the debt recovery team to ensure high levels of service delivery.

Legal & Insurance Management: Manage legal files, update industry stop statuses, and oversee credit insurance processes, including claim lodgments and compliance with insurer deadlines.

Risk Assessment: Assess client paperwork to identify strengths and weaknesses that may affect the collection process.

Stakeholder Liaison: Build trust-based relationships with clients, attorneys, liquidators, and business rescue practitioners

Data Integrity: Utilize internal systems to capture all correspondence, generate reports, and track workflows in real-time.
Candidate Requirements

Experience: * 1-3 years of experience in Debt Collection or Credit Control.

1 to 3 years of experience specifically with Credit Insurance.

Experience working within a legal firm is highly advantageous.

Education: An NQF qualification, diploma, or degree is preferred.

Technical Knowledge: * Basic understanding of accounting principles and annual financial statements.

Knowledge of legal processes including liquidations and business rescue.

Competencies: Strong skills in problem-solving, conflict handling, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
