Cape Town: Factory Manager posted by West Coast Personnel

• Oversee and coordinate all factory operations to achieve production, quality, and safety targets.
• Manage two operational shifts and five production supervisors, including scheduling and overtime control.
• Implement cost control measures and monitor raw material usage, expenses, and wastage against budget.
• Drive production planning, casting, and lane stripping to meet daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
• Ensure effective communication so that supervisors, operators, and general staff understand and execute assigned tasks.
• Maintain detailed production and progress reports for management review.
• Enforce and maintain OHS standards, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
• Supervise the manufacture of precast elements, including stairs, beams, and lintels.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in a similar manufacturing or construction management role.
• Strong understanding of concrete production, formwork, reinforcing, and pre-tension steel (advantageous but not essential).
• Mechanical aptitude with exposure to concrete batch plants, saw-cutting machines, hydraulic jacks, and overhead cranes.
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
• Excellent administrative and reporting capabilities.
• Deadline-driven with proven ability to work under pressure and deliver against tight schedules.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
