Job Description
A well?established organisation is seeking a motivated and experienced Part-time Financial Accountant / Consultant to join its team in Cape Town, Western Cape. The candidate will be required to work 2 to 3 days per week.
The role involves overseeing the accurate processing, analysis, and documentation of financial data, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and maintaining strong financial controls. A candidate wanting to offer strategic and operational insights will also be welcomed.
The ideal candidate will hold a finance or accounting degree, with completed SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA articles considered a strong advantage. Professional financial qualifications are highly valued, along with at least three years experience in finance, accounting, or assurance. Proficiency in Pastel Evolution or similar accounting systems is required, and experience in wholesale stock, inventory, manufacturing, or related environments will be beneficial. Candidates qualified by experience are also welcome to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting.
- Assist with budgets and forecasts.
- Monthly bookkeeping, ensuring capture of all financial transactions
- Ensure transactions are supported by the appropriate documentation and are captured accurately and timeously.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Writing up more complex accounting records of clients.
- Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.
- Manage Debtors and Creditors functions.
- Responsible for monthly Payroll.
- Calculate monthly agent commissions.
- Inventory management and accounting.
- Petty Cash management.
- Maintain fixed asset register.
- Responsible for review of invoicing and payments.
- Foreign supplier APN number generation and payment release on banking platform.
- Adherence to relevant laws and regulations by staying up-to-date with legislation.
- Perform ad hoc duties and tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in finance or accounting.
- Completed articles – SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA, will be an advantage.
- Professional financial qualifications will be highly valued.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in finance, accounting, or assurance.
- Experience with Pastel Evolution or similar accounting system.
- Wholesale stock/inventory, manufacturing, or related experience.
Remuneration:
- R20,000 to R30,000 per month
