We are seeking a highly responsible, experienced, and dedicated House Manager to oversee the smooth running of a private household based on the Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town. This is a live-in position, ideally suited to someone who is organised, proactive, and able to take full ownership of the property both when the owners are away and when they are in residence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the household is always prepared, welcoming, and maintained to the highest standard.

• Manage a small team of household staff, ensuring daily and weekly checklists are followed.

• Oversee external contractors and service providers, including garden services, pool maintenance, and general suppliers.

• Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure all systems are in working order (e.g. lighting, appliances, plumbing).

• Manage minor handyman duties and ensure preventative maintenance is carried out.

• Oversee and maintain household security systems.

• Prepare the home ahead of the familys arrival, ensuring every detail is taken care of.

• Liaise with the owners regarding household requirements and updates.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a House Manager or in a similar role within a private household or hospitality environment.

• Strong leadership and organisational skills.

• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and ensure smooth day-to-day running of the property.

• Hands-on with a good understanding of general maintenance and household operations.

• Trustworthy, discreet, and professional at all times.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
