Job Summary

We are seeking a highly responsible, experienced, and dedicated House Manager to oversee the smooth running of a private household based on the Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town. This is a live-in position, ideally suited to someone who is organised, proactive, and able to take full ownership of the property both when the owners are away and when they are in residence.<h3>Key Responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Ensure the household is always prepared, welcoming, and maintained to the highest standard.</li><li>Manage a small team of household staff, ensuring daily and weekly checklists are followed.</li><li>Oversee external contractors and service providers, including garden services, pool maintenance, and general suppliers.</li><li>Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure all systems are in working order (e.g. lighting, appliances, plumbing).</li><li>Manage minor handyman duties and ensure preventative maintenance is carried out.</li><li>Oversee and maintain household security systems.</li><li>Prepare the home ahead of the familys arrival, ensuring every detail is taken care of.</li><li>Liaise with the owners regarding household requirements and updates.</li></ul><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><li>Proven experience as a House Manager or in a similar role within a private household or hospitality environment.</li><li>Strong leadership and organisational skills.</li><li>Ability to multitask, prioritise, and ensure smooth day-to-day running of the property.</li><li>Hands-on with a good understanding of general maintenance and household operations.</li><li>Trustworthy, discreet, and professional at all times.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li></ul><h3>Package:</h3><ul><li>Live-in position with self-catering accommodation provided.</li><li>One meal per day provided for all staff.</li><li>Competitive remuneration offered, based on experience.</li></ul>If you are a proactive and dependable individual with the ability to manage a household to the highest standards, we would love to hear from you.
