As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you are responsible for ensuring that every room released to a guest reflects the standard we promise and the experience we stand for. With its iconic oceanfront setting, vibrant social spaces, and reputation as one of Cape Towns most loved hotels, The President Hotel continues to evolve toward elevated luxury. In a high-volume, branded environment, structured housekeeping leadership on every shift is essential to maintaining quality control, efficiency, and service consistency. This role is operationally critical. You will oversee room inspections, coordinate team workflow, and ensure compliance with hotel standards across guest rooms and public areas. You will feel right at home in this role if you bring proven hotel housekeeping experience, supervisory exposure within a 4 or 5-star environment, and a disciplined eye for detail within a structured hospitality operation. Hotel experience is essential for this role. Minimum Requirements Matric Certificate (Grade 12) Hospitality qualification (advantageous) Minimum 23 years experience within hotel housekeeping At least 2 years supervisory experience within a hotel environment Experience working within a 4 or 5-star branded hotel environment Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, room standards, and inspection protocols Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays Strong organisational and team coordination skills Professional presentation and conduct CV must be fully updated prior to submission Key Responsibilities Operational Supervision & Quality Control Supervise and coordinate housekeeping team members during assigned shifts. Conduct detailed room inspections to ensure rooms meet hotel quality and brand standards before release. Room & Public Area Standards Ensure all guest rooms, corridors, and public areas maintain cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with hotel SOPs. Team Leadership & Task Allocation Allocate daily room assignments, manage productivity targets, and monitor workflow efficiency. Provide on-shift leadership and operational guidance. Training & Performance Support Support onboarding and training of housekeeping staff. Identify quality gaps and provide coaching to maintain standards. Inventory & Linen Control Monitor linen usage, housekeeping supplies, and stock levels. Ensure proper handling and accountability of hotel property and amenities. Guest Interaction & Service Recovery Respond professionally to guest requests and room-related concerns. Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance to resolve issues efficiently. Compliance & Reporting Maintain accurate records of inspections, discrepancies, and daily reports. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
