Job Summary
Hire Resolve`s Client is seeking to hire a Product Designer to join their team in Cape Town, Ottery. The Product Designer (Fitments and Accessories) will be responsible for designing and developing high-quality fitments and accessories for IBC and container liners. This role involves creating injection-moulded parts, optimizing designs for manufacturing, collaborating with suppliers, and ensuring cost-effective, high-performance solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, creativity, and proficiency in CAD and data analysis tools.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Industry experience in designing for injection moulding, including parts that are currently in production.
- A tertiary qualification in Industrial Design or a relevant Engineering field.
- Strong understanding of the tooling process for injection moulding.
- Knowledge of the injection moulding conversion process.
- 3+ years of experience
- A creative problem solver with strong mathematical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel for systematic data management and analysis.
- Technical knowledge of various materials and manufacturing processes.
- Comprehensive understanding of design principles for injection moulding and the ability to apply them effectively.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient operation of the NPD department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing design requirements to identify key drivers.
- Navigating complex and sometimes conflicting requirements to develop well-balanced solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Contributing high-quality ideas during brainstorming sessions.
- Using advanced CAD techniques, including parametric modelling, to create complex part models, drawings, and assemblies.
- Collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders on technical matters to optimize design costs, CAPEX, and material costs.
- Developing design specifications that support effective risk management.
- Conducting best-practice critical evaluations, presenting findings, and leading with informed recommendations.
