About the Role
A luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Concierge to be based in the hotel foyer, serving as the first point of personalised guest assistance and local expertise. This role is suited to a hospitality professional who lives and breathes Cape Town — someone with exceptional local knowledge, a passion for service excellence, and the ability to curate memorable guest experiences with confidence and discretion. As the face of the hotel in the foyer, the Concierge plays a vital role in shaping each guest’s stay through informed recommendations, seamless bookings, and warm, professional engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised concierge and travel desk services to hotel guests
- Offer expert recommendations on: – Restaurants and dining experiences – Entertainment, nightlife, and cultural events – Wine farms and curated wine experiences – Cape Town attractions and surrounding regions
- Arrange and manage: – Airport transfers and private transport – Tours, excursions, and bespoke itineraries – Car hire and chauffeur services
- Liaise with trusted tour operators, transport providers, restaurants, and suppliers
- Maintain strong local relationships to ensure preferred access and premium experiences
- Manage guest requests efficiently while maintaining a calm, polished presence in the foyer
- Handle guest queries, special requests, and problem resolution with professionalism
- Uphold the hotel’s luxury service standards and brand image at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in a hotel concierge or travel desk role (luxury or 4/5-star environment preferred)
- Exceptional knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding areas, including: – Dining and fine-dining venues – Wine estates and wine routes – Tourist attractions and hidden gems – Entertainment, lifestyle, and seasonal events
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-presented, confident, and guest-focused
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- High attention to detail and service excellence
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Proficiency in English; additional languages advantageous
