About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Operations Analyst to join our growing team in Cape Town. As part of our international investment firm, you will have the opportunity to work with financial data, operational processes, and portfolio monitoring within a dynamic investment environment. Your role will contribute to initiatives that support SME growth and financial inclusion, while providing exposure to global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely operational and financial information to the Investment team
- Maintain and organise client information within structured cloud-based systems
- Set up and process disbursements, including verification of transaction information and obtaining payment authorisation
- Reconcile interest income, calculate charges and refunds, and prepare invoices
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding interest payments
- Track portfolio performance against agreed KPIs, covenants, and loan agreements
- Review and process security documentation related to counterparties in the portfolio
- Identify potential operational risks and escalate appropriately
- Support and adhere to internal compliance procedures and training requirements
- Assist with ad-hoc operational and administrative tasks as required
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (essential)
- Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Previous experience in an operations or finance analyst role (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Exposure to asset-based lending, factoring, or structured finance environments (beneficial)
- Understanding of financial statements and financial analysis (beneficial)
- Interest in impact investing or emerging markets
