Busy Restaurant at a Boutique Hotel in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Restaurant General Manager. The suitable candidate will under the direction of the General Manager, and within the hotels policies and procedures, to supervise and control the restaurant to the required standards; within agreed budgetary limits ; timeframes and parameters. Duties: Ensure the prompt and efficient service of all meals, and beverages to the required standards. Ensure that profit margins are maintained, agreed costs are not exceeded through effective control systems Ensure that restaurant are clean, well maintained and that table settings, including flower arrangements are impeccable. Ensure that waiters are always correctly and smartly dressed, that they offer professional and courteous service to their customers. Ensure that storerooms are clean and stocked with the stipulated requirements. Ensure that barmen / waiters are well trained, correctly and smartly dressed and serve their customers in a professional and friendly manner. Ensure that consumable and non-consumable goods are ordered, correctly stored and issued to the various department. Ensure that company and statutory hygiene standards are maintained in all areas. Attend timorously to customer complaints. Ensure that reports, procedures and administration requirements are timorously submitted. Circulate throughout all restaurant, maintaining a high profile with customers and staff. Hold regular staff meetings. Requirements: Grade 12 Formal hospitality management Diploma/Degree preferred Minimum 2 years management experience in a Food & Beverage Service / Restaurant Management Computer literate in MS Office, Protel, EasiPos, Micros knowledge an advantage Attention to detail Fluent in English Excellent time management skills Able to work under pressure Able to manage people effectively
