About the Role

Sagen Advisory, a leading UK/International Cloud-based Accountancy and Consultancy firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Cape Town. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with clients across multiple jurisdictions while enjoying the benefits of working from home or our office in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial reporting, taxation, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with the team to develop and implement efficient cloud-based accounting solutions for clients, leveraging the latest technological advancements.
• Provide expert advice on accounting best practices, ensuring clients’ financial processes are streamlined and optimized for efficiency.
• Assist and mentor junior team members, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented work environment.
• Engage in regular communication with clients to understand their needs, address inquiries, and maintain strong client relationships.
• Continuously monitor changes in accounting and tax regulations and industry trends, communicate with relevant colleagues and assist in effective communication to team members and clients alike to ensure compliance.
• Identify opportunities to enhance service offerings and contribute to the firm’s growth strategy.

Requirements

• Cloud Accounting Expertise: Proficient in at least one cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks Online, FreshBooks) and adept at leveraging technology to streamline accounting processes.
• Technical Proficiency: Capable of acquiring strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation practices in line with UK regulations.
• Client Focus: Demonstrated ability to understand and address clients’ needs, delivering outstanding service and building lasting relationships.
• Team Player: Collaborative and supportive mindset, willing to work closely with others to achieve common goals of the firm.
• Proactivity: Driven and self-motivated, taking initiative to identify and address challenges and opportunities.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous in handling financial data, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.

Qualifications

Professional accounting qualification such as CA(SA), AGA(SA), PA(SA) or CIMA.

Bachelor of Accounting degree or similar.

Completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles.

Salary & Benefits

R360,000 to R520,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
