Job Summary

Role Purpose:

The purpose of the IT Project Manager III role is to ensure the efficient and effective management and delivery of multiple, cross-functional, global and large-scale IT projects, from inception to completion, that provide demonstrable value in line with the companys business and IT strategy and enterprise architecture. More specifically, the role initiates, plans, designs, executes, monitors, controls and closes all assigned IT projects, and delivers these within the agreed parameters of project scope, cost, timescales and quality. The role works with executive stakeholders to deliver on strategic, board or PAC projects. The IT Project Manager II requires a strong customer service focus with a commitment to meeting project deadlines while consistently communicating with business stakeholders, the PMO team and external vendors to ensure project objectives, quality and expectations are well managed and delivered.

Role Description:

  • Successfully execute and deliver all assigned projects on-time, within scope and budget, ensuring that all assigned projects are aligned to the IT strategy and enterprise architecture and project management methodology.
  • Ensure the projects technical and business feasibility by clearly defining the project purpose, objectives and expected deliverables.
  • Work with executive level project stakeholders to ensure shared expectations, structures and deliverables are clearly defined and agreed.
  • Establish, define and develop project scope, priorities, cost estimates, resourcing requirements, work plans, time schedules and communication plans required to deliver on agreed objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop an integrated project plan and ensure that all the various elements of the project are clearly and accurately defined, communicated, resourced, coordinated and managed.
  • Ensure the required authorisations and sign-off necessary to move a project forward is obtained from the Project Sponsor and/or Steering Committee.
  • Coordinate internal resources and/or third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Manage the process of procuring the external supply of resource and services and lead the negotiation of contracts with external suppliers where required.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and executive level stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Create, update and maintain comprehensive project documentation such as project plans, request for change, status reports, identification of risks or problem areas, analysis of results and proposed resolution through the use of spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps.
  • Perform risk management so as to minimise project risks and ensure successful delivery of the project.
  • Manage expectations for the delivery of the project and timeously escalate any potential issues or risks to enable proactive and appropriate corrective action to be taken.
  • Track and manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs where required using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Track and measure project performance, including analysing the successful completion of short and long-term goals using appropriate project management tools and techniques.
  • Provide regular, clear and concise visibility on project status (timeline, key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, metrics) through weekly/monthly status reporting and project/resource reviews.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to established IT Project Governance and methodologies.
  • Lead collaborations with customers, subject matter experts, designers and IT Risk and Quality team to maximise project quality and business value.
  • Conduct and capture project lessons learnt identifying project wins and opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent (essential).
  • Relevant post graduate qualification – (beneficial).
  • Formal Project Management certification from an accredited Project Management body (e.g. PMP, AMP, Prince2, MSP) – (essential).
  • +5 years` experience in a senior project management role with demonstrable experience implementing business critical projects across multiple integration points, functions and business units while working with global implementation projects and large delivery teams – (essential).
  • Credit Management systems and process knowledge (in a Retail/Retail banking sector) essential.
  • Experience with multi-method project delivery and methodology – (essential).
  • Exposure to SAFe – (desired).
  • Experience working with executive stakeholders – (essential).
  • Experience delivering strategic business goals and working on board / PAC projects – (essential).
  • Experience managing the delivery of blue sky projects including new functionalities, platforms, products or services or mitigating large risks (e.g., large compliance projects such as data privacy, information security projects).
  • Experience in a retail or FMCG environment (desired).

Job Description:

  • The Business Change Execution team is seeking an experienced, dynamic, energetic, agile Senior Project Manager to join their team.

  • This role is responsible for managing multiple projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost, within the company Change Risk Policy and Agile delivery model. This role is accountable for achieving results through various teams, integrating activities to manage the overall project delivery and deployment processes.

Job Description:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple projects within the money management team, ensuring timely delivery and specified quality outcomes.
  • Benefits Management: Ensure that the Business Case ROI remains relevant & updated. Forecast and track benefit(s), ensuring that epic delivery is linked to the company OKRs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams, providing guidance, motivation, and support to ensure collaboration and achievement of epics. Ensure that the team is aligned and focused on outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are understood, managed and addressed.
  • Budget Management: Manage project budgets, perform accurate forecasting, track expenses, and ensure that the allocated budget is utilised effectively and efficiently.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks & issues and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures to guarantee the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare high-quality reports, documentation, and presentations as required for relevant meetings, forums and stakeholders.
  • Dependency Management: Identifies dependencies and inter-dependencies between projects and actively manages these.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate project effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to optimise outcomes.
  • Capacity management: Ensure adequate capacity for the required Epic delivery.
  • Vendor Management: May be required to manage 3rd party vendors together with their respective service delivery and standards.
  • Operational & Business readiness: Ensures that all organisational elements of the programme are addressed, integrated and handed over to the relevant Business Owner

Key skill requirements:
