Durban: HR Officer

About the Role

The HR Officer will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with company policies and labour laws. The successful candidate will provide support and guidance to management and employees on HR matters, while maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment: Coordinate recruitment & selection process
  • Draft and place advertisements on relevant recruitment platforms
  • Screen CVs and shortlist candidates
  • Conduct pre-screen interviews and provide feedback
  • Schedule interviews
  • Conduct reference checks
  • Co-ordinate onboarding process for new employees
  • Employee Relations: Provide support and guidance to management and employees regarding HR matters
  • Assist in facilitating and handling investigations including the initial IR discussions
  • Draft relevant documentation (Warnings and hearing notices) in line with the company disciplinary code
  • Prepare discipline hearing packs
  • Maintain IR records and tracker
  • Prepare CCMA Packs as required

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or relevant qualification
  • Minimum 3-5 Years HR Experience in a mid-level position
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Experience on EDMA & Payspace is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Labour Law including BCEA and Labour Relations Act
