About the Role
Our client, a leader in the steel fabrication industry, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team based in Cato Ridge. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and a proven track record of driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and timely reporting of various management reports
- Analyze Company performance, books of accounts and highlighting control gaps, if any
- Identify and report on areas of improvement in terms of processes, book keeping
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Liaise with managerial staff and other colleagues in order for smooth and timely availability of inputs required for management reports
- Prepare relevant input schedules in support of management reports, accurately and timely.
- Prepare and analyze input-output stock reconciliation; liaise with other production heads for reasons of yield and other variances
- Analyze inventory and debtors ageing reports and report on risk areas
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, cost assessments, and variance analysis to identify opportunities for operational improvement and enhanced profitability.
- Analyze fixed costs against budget and report on variances
- Supervise direct reportees and ensure timely and accurate inputs are available from them
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and financial projections.
- Provide support in internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and explanations are readily available.
- Prepare and report Capex spending, keep track of project costs against budgets, escalate likely deviation to management in time
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts that align with the company’s objectives.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and relevant laws.
- Streamline processes to enhance accuracy, and optimize efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- CA (SA) or CIMA qualification is advantageous;
- Proven experience of at least 5-7 years in a manufacturing environment as a Management Accountant or in a similar financial role;
- Proven ability to manage teams, build relationships, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, influence others, and lead initiatives;
- The ability to work with SAP S4 Hana;
- Good understanding of Accounting standards (IFRS) and tax legislations.
- Advance level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is a MUST;
- Strong analytical and communication skills;
- Sound problem-solving skills.
