Central Karoo: Senior Data and BI Developer

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data models Build advanced BI dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI / Tableau / Qlik Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions Optimise data warehouse structures and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity Lead the implementation of best practices in data architecture, performance tuning, and governance Analyse complex datasets to identify trends and drive strategic insights Mentor junior team members and contribute to overall BI and data engineering standards Support the organisations journey toward becoming fully data-driven Job Experience and Key Requirements: 5 years of experience in data engineering, BI development, or advanced analytics Strong proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and relational database design Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Experience with ETL/ELT technologies and data integration tools Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (Kimball, Star Schema, etc.) Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or similar Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Desirable Skills: Experience with Python or R for data processing or advanced analytics Knowledge of machine learning concepts or predictive modelling Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, or infrastructure-as-code for data deployments Certifications in BI or cloud platforms
