About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Centurion: Design Engineer to join our team at Communicate Finance. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing industrial refrigeration systems in accordance with SANS 10147 and relevant industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize industrial refrigeration systems
- Perform heat load calculations, equipment selection, and detailed system integration
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), cost estimates, and tender documentation
- Source and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure cost-effective and high-quality design outcomes
- Provide technical support to project teams, including commissioning assistance and client communication
- Conduct site audits and SANS 10147 performance assessments to identify improvement opportunities
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all design deliverables
Requirements
- Minimum of five years’ experience in the design of industrial systems
- Proven ability to deliver complete, compliant, and efficient engineering designs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of technical attention to detail
- Experience preparing and reviewing tender and bid documentation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Proficient in MS Office, with AutoCAD Plant 3D experience considered an advantage
Qualifications
- BTech or B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
- Category C SAQCC Designer Certification (essential)
