Job Summary
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Maintenance Co-Lead to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will not only supervise but actively engage in the day-to-day operations of the resorts maintenance department. With 2-3 years of supervisory experience, ideally in the hospitality industry, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all structures, facilities, and amenities are in top-notch condition. This includes overseeing routine repairs, renovations, and preventative maintenance measures to guarantee the comfort and safety of our guests.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist the maintenance team in carrying out daily tasks, repairs, and projects.
- Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, and structural issues.
- Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
- Implement and uphold safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with the resorts Environmental Committee to ensure sustainable and eco-friendly practices are integrated into maintenance operations.
- Assist in managing the maintenance budget and ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Keep maintenance logs and records up to date, ensuring efficient reporting and tracking of all work carried out.
Must have:
- Matric Certificate
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in maintenance, ideally within hospitality.
- 3-5 years of relevant maintenance experience
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and
bricklaying - Hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, and general repair work.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and manage a small team.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans is essential.
