ACCOUNTANT – DURBAN Marketing & Branding Agency A well-established marketing agency in Durban is looking for an experienced, detail-driven Accountant to take ownership of the full finance function. If you’re comfortable running end-to-end accounting, thrive on accuracy, and can keep a busy creative agency financially organised, this role may be a strong fit. Key Responsibilities -Manage the full accounting function: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations. -Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, income tax, and all statutory requirements. -Capture and allocate invoices accurately. -Reconcile all transactions on Xero. -Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. -Handle general bookkeeping duties. -Work closely with Account Executives to track project costings. -Manage month-end procedures. -Issue debtor statements and follow up on outstanding payments. -Request and reconcile supplier statements on Xero. -Perform bank reconciliations. -Draft monthly cashflow budgets. -Prepare and submit all tax and payroll returns (including SIMPLE PAY). -Manage supplier payments. -Oversee all tax responsibilities of the company. Skills & Experience Required -Completed Accounting qualification (compulsory). -Accounting Articles experience is an advantage. -Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. -High level of accuracy and confidentiality. -Proficient in Xero, Simple Pay, Hubdoc, Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, SARS e-Filing. -Fully computer literate. -Excellent written and telephonic communication skills. -Able to work independently and take initiative.
