About the Role
As a Mid-Tier Database Administrator, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management, security, and optimisation of our organisation’s SQL Server database environments. Your expertise in database management, SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), scripting, automation, performance tuning, and data security compliance is critical to maintaining a stable, high-performing data platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.
- Perform database upgrades, migrations, and patching as required.
- Monitor and optimise database performance, resolving issues to ensure optimal SSAS performance.
- Manage and coordinate scheduled jobs and related ETL processes to ensure on-time daily completion.
- Ensure daily backups are scheduled and completed successfully, and provide restore support when required.
Requirements
- 35 years of experience in a database administration role.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, or similar certifications preferred.
- Experience in both on-premises and cloud database environments is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
