About the Role
A major player in the industrial sector is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to lead their financial operations in Mbombela. This pivotal role involves overseeing the company’s financial health, managing high-performing teams, and ensuring robust internal controls within a complex production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Reporting: Prepare and report on the financial position and controls of the company, including full-cycle financial statements and budgets.
- Cost Accounting: Perform a dedicated cost accounting function, analyzing and reporting on cost variances and production parameters.
- Compliance & Tax: Ensure full compliance with IFRS, GAAP, the Companies Act, and all relevant tax legislation (VAT, Income Tax).
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, including overseeing payroll, creditors, and marketing accounting specialists.
- Strategic Oversight: Monitor company performance against budgets and provide critical management information for board-level decision-making.
Requirements
- Education: B.Com Honours degree (minimum)
- Experience:
- At least 5 years in a leadership/middle management role
- Sector Specific: Proven experience specifically in Mining or Manufacturing is essential (consulting or banking backgrounds will not be considered)
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial principles, corporate governance, and production/plant processes
- Competencies: Strong strategic thinking, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
