About the Role

Austell Pharmaceuticals, one of South Africa’s fast-growing pharmaceutical companies, is expanding its presence in KwaZulu-Natal and is seeking a driven Doctor Detailing Representative to join the regional team. This opportunity is suited to both medical science graduates looking to begin a career in pharmaceutical sales, as well as experienced pharmaceutical representatives seeking to advance within a dynamic and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and detail pharmaceutical products to doctors, specialists, and healthcare professionals
  • Conduct regular structured visits to doctors, clinics, and hospitals within the assigned territory
  • Communicate product indications, clinical benefits, and usage clearly and accurately
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare providers
  • Identify opportunities to expand product awareness and prescribing support
  • Achieve agreed monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends within the territory
  • Provide market insights and territory feedback to management

Requirements

  • Degree in Medical Science (Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Science, Microbiology, or related field) preferred
  • Previous pharmaceutical sales or doctor detailing experience advantageous
  • Strong sales experience in a healthcare or related environment will be considered
