About the Role

The Engineering Director role at our esteemed organization is a critical position that requires a seasoned leader to drive strategic growth and operational excellence in our engineering operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to accelerate project execution, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver high-value mechanical projects within tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to accelerate project execution and enhance operational efficiency across engineering operations
  • Define clear project and business objectives, aligning resources and teams to meet aggressive delivery timelines
  • Oversee facilities, plant, and critical operational assets to ensure reliability and optimal performance
  • Lead multidisciplinary project management and technical engineering teams to deliver large-scale projects
  • Manage tendering processes and ensure technical, commercial, and compliance standards are met
  • Control project budgets, monitor forecast versus actual costs, and identify cost optimisation and performance improvement opportunities
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure scope alignment and timely project progress reporting
  • Ensure strict adherence to SHEQ requirements while driving delivery in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments

Requirements

  • 8+ years of senior-level experience within a large-scale mechanical contracting or heavy industrial environment
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high-value mechanical projects within tight timelines
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in tendering, contract negotiations, and commercial decision-making
  • Highly developed leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple complex and fast-paced projects
  • Exceptional executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities

Qualifications

Degree/BTech in Mechanical engineering is required. Professional Registration is advantageous. Valid, unendorsed drivers license is also a requirement.
