About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated FMCG Sales Representative to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing strong relationships with our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Set sales targets as per store potential and location and deals involved.
- Serve customers by selling products and exceed customer needs.
- Build a sound value add customer relationship with our customers.
- Service existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Coordinating of sales promotions
- Identify slow moving products and drive sales on new products.
- Able to evaluate customers before accepting them.
- Identify prospect customers and have the ability to convert them to OGD customers.
- Adjust content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
- Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of dealers.
- Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
- Able to apply OGD sales KPM’s.
- Able to analyse sales and craft sales action plan.
- Project management of events.
- Knowledge of Break-Even Points Analysis.
- Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintenance of the company vehicle
- Filling in vehicle logbook daily.
- Complete weekly call cycles
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration preferred
- 3 to 5 years of industry sales experience (preferable FMCG)
- C1 driver’s license with PDP
- Experience in dealing with Chain Retail stores
- Able to speak at least one traditional language
- Willing to travel everyday (Newcastle or Ladysmith resident preferred)
Qualifications
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration
Salary & Benefits
R10,000 to R15,000 (Negotiable – depending on qualifications and experience)
Commission (after initial 3 month training process)
