About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee all aspects of production processes in our Durban facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal utilisation of machinery, labour, and materials, while driving continuous improvement in processes and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
- Monitor production output and adjust plans to meet deadlines
- Coordinate with sales and dispatch to prioritise urgent orders
- Oversee all production processes (cutting, edging, tempering, laminating, IG units)
- Minimise downtime and production delays
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and efficiency
- Ensure smooth workflow between departments
- Liaise with quality teams to resolve issues
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments
- Promote a strong safety culture within the plant
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Production Management, Engineering, or related field
- Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma (advantageous)
- 58 years experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Minimum 3 years in a management role
- Experience in glass processing is highly advantageous
