About the Role

Our client, a leader in the chemical manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Production Manager to take full ownership of plant operations, drive performance, and lead a high-impact production team. This strategic leadership role will oversee Production Plants (SMR & Hydrogen Peroxide) and Tank Farm operations, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production
  • Drive performance across Safety, Health, Environment, and Production targets
  • Plan and coordinate production runs in line with sales and laboratory requirements
  • Oversee plant maintenance planning and shutdowns
  • Ensure product quality and availability for dispatch
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production teams
  • Manage compliance with OSHAct, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Act as a key stakeholder in capital projects, HAZOPs, and operational improvements
  • Produce and analyse weekly and monthly production reports
  • Troubleshoot plant issues to maintain optimal output

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Engineering / Production / related)
  • Strong experience in chemical or industrial manufacturing
  • Proven leadership in managing plant operations and teams
  • Solid understanding of OSHAct, ISO, and compliance frameworks
  • Hands-on ability to solve operational challenges and drive efficiency
  • Strong communication and reporting skills

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) not specified.
