Durban: Senior Management Accountant

In this role, you will provide critical financial insight, support operational decision-making, and ensure robust financial controls. You will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting processes, partnering with operations to improve efficiency and profitability. The role requires a strong technical background and the ability to interpret and communicate financial data effectively. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and analyse management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Conduct product costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting. Maintain and review standard costing, job costing, and WIP reconciliations. Provide financial insight to production and operational management teams. Monitor inventory levels and support stock control processes. Oversee and improve financial reporting systems and ERP functionalities. Participate in ERP and process improvement projects. Develop and maintain financial models and performance dashboards. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Support internal and external audits with relevant documentation. Supervise and mentor junior finance team members. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial performance. Key Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Requirements: Minimum B.Com (Accounting / Management Accounting / Finance) or equivalent. CIMA qualification (completed or in progress) strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years management accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven expertise in product costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting. Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas). Experience with ERP systems; Power BI exposure advantageous. Experience leading or supervising junior finance staff (preferred).
