About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Packaging Consultant to join our team in Durban, KZN. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and providing expert packaging solutions to drive customer satisfaction and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Development: Develop and manage relationships with allocated existing customers
- Identify new business opportunities within current accounts
- Pursue new customers and market opportunities
- Understand client needs and propose appropriate packaging solutions
- Present and communicate the company’s value proposition effectively
- Service Delivery & Account Management: Deliver high levels of customer service, proactively identifying customer challenges and offering solutions
- Handle customer complaints and queries in line with company policy
- Facilitate the smooth flow of customer projects
- Provide product knowledge and packaging solution guidance
- Sales Administration & Reporting: Maintain daily logs of client meetings, complete weekly log sheets and estimates, submit and follow up on quotations
- Log and track CCRs (Customer Change Requests)
- Monitor back-orders and customer stock control
- Participate in annual budgeting
- Manage pre-production and rough orders
- Compile and submit reports as required
- Self-Management & Growth: Plan and manage personal sales schedule effectively, set personal performance goals and action plans, stay abreast of industry innovations and packaging trends
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- BCom Degree or similar analytical/commercial qualification (business, retail, consumer-focused fields preferred)
- Proven experience in B2B sales
- Experience within the plastic packaging industry (advantageous)
Qualifications
- National Diploma or similar analytical/commercial qualification
