About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our commercial truck workshop in Durban. As a Trade-Tested Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Certificate holder with at least 5 years of experience as a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for planning and managing daily operations, leading and motivating staff, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and tool/equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily workshop operations
- Lead and motivate workshop staff and service personnel
- Minimize WIP below 50 open job cards
- Ensure workshop cleanliness, standards, and tool/equipment maintenance
- Manage spare parts availability with Parts Manager
- Handle deviations, complaints, and technical issues
- Increase service solution sales and communicate offerings to customers
- Monitor workshop results, budgets, KPIs, and operational targets
Requirements
- Trade-Tested Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Certificate
- 5 years or more of experience as a Workshop Manager in a commercial OEM workshop
- Strong planning, leadership, and team management skills
- Code 14 drivers license
- Matric; proficient in English
