About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HCV Underwriter to join our team in Durbanville. The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting Heavy Commercial Vehicle risks according to underwriting guidelines, handling new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy amendments, assessing risk exposure and claims history to determine appropriate cover and pricing, providing technical underwriting support to brokers and internal teams, ensuring compliance with FAIS and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate policy records and underwriting documentation, and supporting portfolio performance and risk management objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in short-term insurance underwriting and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits
- 7+ years’ experience as an HCV Underwriter
- Proven short-term insurance underwriting experience
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Strong attention to detail and risk assessment skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Qualifications
RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits, RE5 registration is a requirement for this role.
