Maintenance Storeman required for a manufacturing company based in East London

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (with Maths will be advantageous)
• Mechanical Engineering qualification is essential
• Experience in a maintenance department essential
• Tertiary qualification in Stores Control/ Inventory will be advantageous

Job

• 2 years experience within a manufacturing and printing industry
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Strict adherence to company policy and procedures.
• Attention to detail is an important aspect of this position.
• Strong Computer skills essential e.g. Word, Excel spreadsheets, JDE.
• Numeracy skills – Maths at Matric / post Matric required.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Sound knowledge of machinery and maintenance practice

• Responsible for ensuring stocks of Spares & Maintenance Supplies are available.
• Check Stocks & Reconcile on computer.
• Follow up on spares orders on daily basis.
• Issue goods as per requisition.
• Check and record coal and starch stocks on a daily basis.
• Ensure stores are neat and tidy at all times
• Receiving goods on daily basis ensuring that correct goods are supplied.
• Conduct monthly stock takes and weekly cycle counts.
• Ensure communication is accurate and there is an efficient interchange of information.
• Follow company procedures for procurement of supplies.
• Pack items away in demarcated areas before end of shift.
• Ensure stores are always secure on your shift.
• Ad-hoc duties when required
• Ensure all activities and duties are performed in accordance with the Companies Policy, Occupational Health and Safety Act, No. 85 of 1993, Legal and Statutory Requirements, Customer Requirements and ISO Standards ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO18001, FSC and
  FSSC22000.
