Our Client in the Automotive Industry (Retail Space), is seeking to employ an experienced Sales Manager to their team based in East London.

Minimum of 5 years experience in the automotive retail industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.

Requirements:

  • Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the automotive retail industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets.
  • Knowledge of new and used vehicle sales operations.
  • Experience in managing relationships with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and commitment to high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) levels.
  • Computer literacy, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid drivers license.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Assist in formulating and implementing ongoing vehicle sales policies.
  • Maximize sales and profitability through customer satisfaction and retention to meet sales forecasts.
  • Develop and manage the sales organization to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
  • Ensure optimal stock levels of new and used vehicles on-site and on order.
  • Control departmental expenses and ensure adherence to budget.
  • Develop and implement sales growth strategies for new and used car sales.
  • Motivate and lead the sales team to achieve company, retail, and wholesale sales targets.
  • Set and monitor individual sales targets and performance metrics (e.g., fleet calls, daily contacts, demonstrations).
  • Monitor all customer contacts, leads, and follow-ups to ensure conversion.
  • Ensure cost control and profitability within the sales department.
  • Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction levels.
  • Manage the relationship between the dealership and OEM.
  • Manage OEM scorecards and required monthly reports.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Manage assets and vehicle debtors to benchmark levels.
  • Conduct daily and weekly client visits to build and maintain strong relationships.
