About the Role
The ideal Millwright will report to the Line Manager and conduct both electrical and mechanical inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance on engineering equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose root causes of equipment failure and perform timely repairs.
- Minimize equipment downtime and reduce damage through swift fault rectification.
- Apply engineering best practices and ensure all equipment meets operational requirements.
- Conduct routine and “first-off” inspections on machinery to detect faults or excessive wear.
- Liaise with production teams to proactively identify and resolve process-related issues.
- Execute preventative maintenance and coordinate availability of necessary parts.
- Ensure all manufactured products meet quality standards and compile relevant reports.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4)
- Trade Test: Millwright (NQF Level 5)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical, electrical, and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office, SAP, ERP systems)
- Strong knowledge of maintenance methodologies, SOPs, and equipment standards
- Understanding of housekeeping and safety principles
